French officials say they’ve launched a full-scale manhunt for one of the suspected Paris terrorist gunmen, who they believe managed to escape.

Seven attackers – two of them residents of Belgium – died during the attacks on Friday evening, authorities said.

However, it was initially believed there were eight attackers in the coordinated shootings and bombings across the French capital, and the discovery of a suspected getaway car has added to the suspicion that at least one other suspect may have got away.

The suspect has been named as 26-year-old Salah Abdeslam – it’s believed he is on the run, although there is a chance he may have died in the attacks. He is the brother of one of the attackers who blew himself up at the Bataclan concert hall during the Eagles of Death Metal show.

New reports courtesy of Belgian newspaper L’Echo now suggest that security services believe up to 20 people were involved with the attacks – either directly in Paris or planning the attacks from afar.

Seven people were also arrested in Belgium yesterday in police raids connected to the attacks, which killed at least 129 people across Paris and injured hundreds more.
