A zoo keeper has died after a ‘freak accident’ at a Cambridgeshire zoo.
Hamerton was closed this morning as emergency services – including an air ambulance – attended to the scene.
Soon after the news broke earlier today, people were speculating on Twitter, with suggestions including a tiger had escaped but these were soon put to rest when a spokesman for the zoo said ‘no animals had escaped’.

Earlier, a zoo spokesperson told UNILAD:
I can confirm no animal has escaped and full details will be sent out in a press release later this afternoon.
And a police spokesperson was reported by The Mirror as saying:
We were called around 11.15am to reports of a serious incident at Hamerton Park.
Officers attended the scene along with ambulance crews and MAGPAS [air ambulance].
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim.
