Police Have Tracked Down Teenage Girl Who Punched Boy With Down Syndrome

Yesterday, shocking footage of a cowardly 14-year-old girl punching a lad with Down syndrome and Cerebral Palsy understandably went viral as people tried to track down the attacker.

Well, police have now confirmed that the teenage girl in question has been arrested in connection with the incident.

In the footage, uploaded to Live Leak and Facebook page Most Wanted Lads, the 18-year-old boy is punched twice in the face in quick succession by the young girl in Pakenham, south east of Melbourne, Australia.

After the attack, he is covered in blood and people can actually be heard laughing off camera.

The girl later tried to defend her actions in a series of social media posts, making an excuse-ridden apology claiming the man was being aggressive towards her and her friends, although in the footage he looks vulnerable, not hostile.

Sergeant Marcus Coolen of Pakenham police noted they only became aware of the attack when the footage emerged online.

He said:

The victim has now made a statement and doesn’t recollect the incident because he was very intoxicated. Apparently the male was being verbally aggressive. [The girl] was unaware it was being filmed.
