A police veteran plotted with her boyfriend to have both his daughter and her ex-husband killed, until her boyfriend turned her into the police.
Valerie Cincinelli, 34, allegedly plotted for months to have a hitman kill the school girl and her ex-husband, even withdrawing $7,000 to pay for the murders.
Cincinella, who had been an officer with the New York Police Department for 12 years, discussed with her boyfriend how to kill the two people and establish solid alibis, according to court documents.
As reported by the New York Times, Isaiah Carvalho Jr, 32, had filed for divorce from the 34-year-old police officer five months ago. Carvalho was hopeful the matter would soon be settled, until he was told on Friday (May 17) that his ex-wife had been plotting to kill him for the entire winter.
Law enforcement officers informed the man that Officer Cincinelli, a mother of two, had arranged to hire someone to kill both him and her boyfriend’s school-age daughter. The boyfriend was allegedly involved in the scheme, however contacted the FBI before the murders could be carried out.
Cincinelli has since been charged with trying to have her ex-husband and boyfriend’s daughter killed. The police officer allegedly planned to make the death of her husband look like a robbery, while the girl would be ran over with a car near her school, according to court documents.
PixabayCincinelli and Carvalho, a machine operator in Nassau County, got married four years ago but the latter filed for divorce in January, his lawyer Matthew Weiss said. The lawyer continued that the couple appeared to have reached an agreement that would settle the case before trial.
By February though, the police officer had asked her boyfriend to hire a hitman to kill Carvalho – and his own daughter.
As per the New York Times, Weiss said:
It’s your worst nightmare scenario.
On February 18, Cincinelli withdrew $7,000 from a bank and her boyfriend bought five ounces of gold coins worth $6,935 on the same day. This was reportedly the agreed upon method for paying the killer.
In conversations recorded by the boyfriend, the couple could be heard discussing the murder plot repeatedly. Court documents also suggest the police officer had used social media to track the whereabouts of her boyfriend’s daughter.

Understanding Cincinelli’s intentions, police went to great lengths to convince her the plot had succeeded, with one police officer informing her they were investigating the death of her husband and another agent sending her a message pretending to be the killer.
Immediately afterwards, the police officer got in touch with her boyfriend to make sure they had strong alibis, and told him to delete any evidence of their phone conversations.
Cincinelli was taken into custody by the FBI later that day and charged with the use of interstate commerce for murder for hire.
