Postal Remaster Coming to PC and PS4 With Awesome New Mode

Who remembers Postal? It was a 1997 third-person isometric shooter in which you ran around causing carnage. It was awesome – and it’s coming back to PC and PS4 this year in the form of Postal Redux.

Developer Running With Scissors describe it as a remastered version of the original. It’s coming to PC and Mac this spring, with a PlayStation 4 release to follow sometime later in the year.

As well as touched up visuals that remain true to the look of the 1997 version, Postal Redux is adding a whole new game mode, promisingly titled “Rampage Mode”.

In Rampage Mode, you’re basically rewarded for killing as many people as possible by upping a multiplier for every consecutive kill. Players get a grade at the end of a level, which I imagine can be shared on an online leaderboard of some sort. Classic, violent arcade fun. What’s not to love?

Running With Scissors founder Vince Desi said in a statement:

Even with all the noise surrounding Postal, gamers focused on the experience, playing the game by the millions, giving it great user reviews and helping us not only survive, but flourish. Postal Redux is a love letter to our fans.

Oh, and don’t worry – you’ll still be able to set fire to an entire marching band, just for shits and giggles. Brilliant.
