A pregnant teenager’s family bashed open her concrete tomb when her husband heard her screaming the day after she was buried.
Relatives of Neysi Perez, from Honduras, hammered at the concrete her coffin was encased in, in a desperate bid to free her, The Independent reported.
The family told reporters they found the glass viewing window in the 16-year-old’s casket had been smashed and her fingertips showed bruising from her attempt to escape.
Neysi’s family took her to hospital, but medics tragically found no sign she was alive. The teenager had been three-months pregnant when she passed away. She was later reburied in the same mausoleum in La Entrada General Cemetery.

Neysi’s husband, Rudy Gonzales, said: “It had already been a day since we buried her. I couldn’t believe it. I was ecstatic, full of hope.”
The teen had suffered an apparent panic attack outside her home in La Entrada following gunfire. She started foaming at the mouth, and her parents believed she had become possessed and called the local priest to perform an exorcism.
When she appeared lifeless, she was taken to hospital and doctors pronounced her dead, later being buried at the cemetery.
Doctors said they believe that the panic attack temporarily stopped Neysi’s heart, or had cataplexy attack, causing the sudden temporary loss of voluntary muscle function triggered by extreme stress or fear.
