The concrete streets of the Philippines are running with blood after more than 3,700 drug addicts and dealers have been slaughtered in just 100 days.
The butchering was ordered by the Philippines’ new charming but radical leader, President Rodrigo Duterte, who told the population of his country to take matters into their own hands and to rid the streets of all drug dealers and users, reports the Daily Mail.
As well as normal citizens taking up arms and killing there are reports that the police in the Philippines are also murdering thousands of drug users and criminals with the help of secret death squads.
President Duterte has already been dubbed ‘The Punisher’ due to his barbaric methods of cleaning the streets and he has been likened to Adolf Hitler, to which he replied: ‘Hitler massacred three million Jews, now, there is three million drug addicts. I’d be happy to slaughter them’.
He added:
At least if Germany had Hitler, the Philippines would have [he then pointed to himself].
The above speech was reportedly made in the city of Davao which is rumoured to be a death squad stronghold.

Due to Duterte’s extreme fear tactics, drug dealers and addicts are so terrified of being murdered that tens of thousands of them have turned themselves into police, while an additional 26,000 have been arrested.
However with so many people being arrested there is simply no space in the country’s jails left to put them leading to despicable conditions in the country’s few prisons.
The European Union, the U.S., the Catholic Church, and many many more have all condemned the killings as being a breach of human rights.
Despite the international backlash against Duterte’s murderous methods – support for him in the Philippines is incredibly high, with over 80 per cent of the population claiming to be very happy with him as president and with his war on drugs.
Just a matter of months ago, President Duterte made headlines for the first time when he told Barack to go to hell, claiming that the U.S. uses the Philippines as a ‘doormat’ before adding that their relationship was over.
