Preston from that band The Ordinary Boys has been hospitalised after falling from a balcony while drunk.
The singer – whose real name is Samuel Preston – posted a photo of himself in a wheelchair in hospital alongside his girlfriend on his Instagram page, saying he’d fallen two floors while in Denmark.
Lucky to be alive, Preston has been left with a list of injuries including leg broken in four places, a broken pelvis and a punctured lung.
He posted:
If I haven’t been texting you back it’s because I fell off a 2nd floor balcony in Denmark and broke my leg in 4 places, pelvis, hip, foot, ribs, shoulder blade, punctured a lung and smashed my left hand to pieces.
I know a wise man once said ‘boys will be boys’ but seriously I drank too much and was careless and please don’t abuse your privileges. I think I’m going to do the next 30 years sober.
Thank you to my gf @loveisenough for flying over to spoon feed me and my mama for doing the same. To quote Garth Marenghi ‘it really hurts’.
The Ordinary Boys, who had hits with ‘Boys Will Be Boys’ and ‘Nine2Five’ broke up in 2008 but reunited back in 2011.
Preston was a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006, and the following year he infamously appeared on Never Mind The Buzzcocks. During the episode he stormed off when host Simon Amstell started mocking Preston’s then-wife Chantelle Houghton by reading extracts from her book.
Get well soon, Preston.
