We’ve been on tenterhooks all day, and now the time has come, we can all release a breath of relief because Prince William and Kate Middleton have announced the name of their newly born baby boy.

The Duchess of Cambridge, better known to us as Kate Middleton, gave birth at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London on Monday (April 23) which is known for its extreme privacy, where the royal couple’s other children were born.

A tweet by Kensington Palace reveals the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided to name their son Louis Arthur Charles.

Kensington Palace tweeted this morning:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles.

The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.

Kensington Palace revealed the Kate had given birth to her and William’s third on Monday via a Twitter post which read:

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs.

The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz.

The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.

Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.

Kate was checked into St. Mary’s this morning this morning after entering the early stages of labour. On March 22 she stepped back from her royal duties to go on maternity leave, her last public appearance was at a charity lunch in London.

Prior to the birth of their third child, it is understood neither Kate or Will knew the sex of the child.

For the first time in history, the sex of the latest addition to the royal family will not change who is next in line for the throne.

Male heirs now do not take precedence over female ones thanks to 2013’s Succession to the Crown Act.

Prince Harry though now moves down to sixth in line due to the new arrival, bumping from the number five spot.

It’s believed Kate went through hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) during the first few months of pregnancy, an extreme case of morning sickness. It is something she experienced when she was pregnant with her two oldest children, George and Charlotte.

It is said HG affects an estimated two per cent of expecting mothers with symptoms including; constant nausea, severe vomiting and weight loss.

This meant Kate had to spend three days in St. Mary’s during her first pregnancy with George. Fortunately, she did not have to go through the same process with Charlotte and Louis.

When she made her first public appearance following the announcement of her third pregnancy, the Duchess of Cambridge was subjected to some vile abuse on social media.

Internet trolls took issue with her weight and health, during a reception at Buckingham Palace for World Mental Health Day in October, with photos of the event appearing on the Kensington Palace official Instagram account.

One Instagram user posted a comment on the picture claiming:

There is no such thing as morning sickness. HG is caused by severe malnutrition and vitamin deficiency. Look it up in Wikipedia.

When Catherine admits publicly she is an anorexic and has a severe eating disorder only then I will take her mental health campaign seriously.

She is more 30 lbs underweight and is well known for not eating and exercising for hours on end.

It is physically impossible to be as emaciated and malnourished as she is and grow a healthy baby. It doesn’t happen.

However, others came to Kate’s defence, with one of them firing back at the comment saying:

You have no idea what you’re talking about. As someone who has suffered hyperemisis more than once I really feel for the poor woman. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

Oh and I was perfectly healthy before falling pregnant, no deficiencies or lack of weight here so that throws that theory in the bin.

I’m sorry Kate you’ve had to go through HG again but it’s nice to know that even princesses can suffer trying to bring a beautiful baby in the world.

It takes pure determination to keep going when you feel beyond horrid day in day out. Ignore the hate. People often criticise what they don’t understand.
