Yesterday’s royal wedding, (May 19), was a beautiful event, but the absence of Prince Harry’s beloved late mother, Princess Diana, was definitely felt.

There was even an empty seat next to Prince William which was thought to have been left for the people’s Princess.

However, you may have noticed a young woman, who some have said is the spitting image of Princess Diana, really stole the show at the wedding.

Kitty Spencer, the niece of the late Princess, wore a green dress and hat, oozing the elegance of her aunt.

Many people pointed out Prince William and Harry’s model cousin looked just like Diana, and it’s undeniable.

Kitty arrived at the nuptials with her family – sister Lady Eliza, brother Louis and mother Victoria.

She was aged just six-years-old when Diana died in a car accident in Paris, August 31, 1997, but has clearly inherited her looks.

The newlywed Prince was keen to make sure she was present on his special day, as well as making sure members of Princess Diana’s family would be involved with their big day too.

A statement from Kensington Palace confirmed:

In addition to having the support of The Queen, his father The Prince of Wales, and his brother Prince William as best man, Prince Harry is also keen to involve his mother’s family in his wedding.

All three siblings of Diana, Princess of Wales will be in attendance and Lady Jane Fellowes will give the reading.

Prince Harry and Ms. Markle both feel honoured Lady Jane will be representing her family and helping to celebrate the memory of the late Princess on the wedding day.

More nods to his late mother were evident in the St. Geroge’s Chapel floral design, where he and Meghan exchanged vows.

The behind-the-scene pictures inside the historic chapel shows foliage, white peonies, white garden roses and other white blooms,  complimenting the front of the organ loft and overlooking the seats.

It’s believed the choice of flowers were a tribute to her from Harry – the ones used were said to be a favourite of Princess Diana.

Prince Charles, Harry’s father, walked Meghan Markle down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel after her father, Thomas Markle, was forced to pull out at the last minute due to heart surgery.

Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, accompanied her daughter to Windsor Castle, along with select members of the wedding party.

Meghan released a statement following her father’s decision to pull out of the wedding, in which she professed she’s ‘always cared’ for him and hopes he can be given the time and space he needs to focus on his health.

The ceremony was officiated by the Dean of Windsor, David Conner, while the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, performed the newlywed’s vows.

During the ceremony, a sermon was given by Reverend Michael Curry of the Episcopal Church in the United States.

According to Kensington Palace, the wedding was attended by 600 guests, a small gathering when compared to William and Kate’s wedding, which boasted 1,900 guests.

A group of 200 close acquaintances are invited to an after-party at Frogmore House, a short walk from St George’s Chapel.
