Dying alone in the middle of a street in India things were not looking good for this pup, but help was on the way.
Members of the charity Animal Aid Unlimited approach the poor animal, and with what little strength she has, the underweight canine manages to wag her tail and almost appears to smile before being gently carried from the road.
But she was not out of the woods yet. The puppy was diagnosed with Canine Distemper, a viral disease which is often fatal.
Rescuers administered antibiotics, but then faced an anxious two-week wait as the pup fought for life:
