Abdeslam was captured by authorities in the Molenbeek district of Brussels on Friday, and after attempting to flee, he was wounded in the leg.

The 26-year-old was traced after his fingerprints were identified following a police raid, with his safe house then identified due to a suspiciously large pizza order.

After being shot, Abdeslam, who remained at large for 120 days following the tragic November attacks in Paris, appeared to drop a note from his trouser leg as officers dragged him to a police vehicle.

It’s not yet known what information, if any, the paper held, nor has it been revealed whether Belgian authorities have it in their possession, reports the Daily Mail.

According to his lawyer, Sven Mary, Abdeslam is cooperating with Belgian police but is opposing extradition to France, as well as reportedly considering legal action against a French prosecutor.

It has been reported that French officials expect the ISIS affiliated jihadist to be transferred into their hands in the next 90 days.

Abdeslam will then be brought to justice for the horrific crimes he allegedly helped to perpetrate.
