Remember that quaint little Resident Evil 7 demo that came out on PlayStation a few weeks back? Well turns out, Capcom were playing us all like a damned fiddle.
The Beginning Hour demo has had fans scratching their heads for months, especially over what the hell to do with that damn dummy finger. Well, at this year’s Tokyo Games Show, Capcom might just have given us an answer. First things first though, we have a new trailer to chew over. Excuse the pun. It was awful.
In typical Capcom fashion, we again have more answers than questions, but we do know a little more about ‘The Bakers’ – who are assumably the antagonistic family of wrong’uns in Resi 7.
The caption with that comes with the video reads:
Down in Dulvey, Louisiana lies an old, derelict plantation house that looks like it hasn’t seen use in years. It turns out someone is home, though – meet the Baker family and get a glimpse at what’s to come in Resident Evil 7 biohazard.
Now then, on to the more pressing news. The Beginning Hour demo is getting a “Twilight version” update today. According to the PlayStation blog, it will expand on “what you can do and explore” in the demo. Will we get dummy finger answers? Will we find a real use for the axe? Will we be welcomed to the family, son? We’ll know more very shortly.
Check out some brand new screenshots below. We even get a look at one of our possible protagonists tied up there on the right.
Oh how mysterious. Resident Evil 7 will release on January 24th on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It’ll also be coming to VR and PS4 Pro. Zoinks.
