Tired of scrolling through Reed for any job that doesn’t sound completely mind numbing? Richard Branson could be the man with a job just for you.
Well, get your disillusioned self over to LinkedIn right now for a chance to spend your days in a little fragment of heaven.
Necker Island is Sir Richard Branson’s private island, located in the British Virgin Islands and famous for offering visitors billionaire levels of luxury.
Previous guests have included former US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Yeah, this is a tad more glam than Tom Hanks’ island on Castaway…
Now Sir Richard is looking for a super organised PA to keep the haven ticking over; after all, no man is an island.
Keny Jones, Necker Island’s general manager placed the following advertisement on LinkedIn, causing sunshine seeking jobseekers everywhere to shriek with glee:
Ok, so first of all, the clue is in the title and this is an administrative role, covering two busy offices.
The main responsibilities will be diary and email management, general correspondence, filing and archiving, booking travel and providing cover for Richard’s PA when they’re on holiday, amongst a whole host of other admin-related tasks.
It’s a busy role in two even busier offices so think carefully as it’s not for everyone (despite the sunshine).
@richardbranson As I waited for my lift from Carlisle to Glasgow after being left stranded I was thinking. Do you have a Lidl on Necker Island?

The advertisement continues:
We are of course looking for someone with fantastic admin and organisational skills as well as practical experience in a busy office.
But your personality is just as important. As well as being a top notch administrator, we’re also looking for someone who is self-motivated, outgoing and enthusiastic who can balance this with the essential need for discretion and confidentiality.
