A British Army recruit has sadly died during initial training in Pirbright, Surrey today.

It has been confirmed that the deceased was a “young female” but her age and identity has not yet been disclosed.
Speaking about the incident, a spokeswoman for the Army said: “The incident is being investigated and it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”

She continued: “We offer our condolences to the family and ask that you respect their privacy while they come to terms with their sudden loss.”
The Sun has reported that the woman had already completed a tough two-day exercise. Her next of kin has been informed.
