Rocket League developers Psyonix have announced that the brand new basketball- themed mode is coming as a free update on April 26, and released a new trailer showing off all kinds of car dunking fun.
To support the launch of Hoops, Psyonix has partnered with the NBA (which stands for Not Basketball Amateurs, I think) for an “NBA Flag Pack” that includes flags for all 30 NBA teams.
The pack costs $2 (about £1.40) but if you find yourself in the hard position of not wanting to spend money, but desiring some kind of NBA related gear for your car, the free update will give everyone an NBA logo flag to equip. How considerate.
Rocket League’s Hoops mode will be played on an arena called the Dunk House. As the name implies, aerial shots will be key to success, which means anyone who’s shit at pulling off shots in mid air (i.e. me) better get good fast.
Check out the video of the new mode in action below:
Basketball is the second sport that Rocket League has adapted, following 2015’s “Snow Day” Hockey mode. The base game is of course based on football.
