So much for prolonging the beating and making Bethe Correia suffer!

It took UFC women’s bantamweight champion ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey (12-0) a mere 34 seconds to put away the latest challenger to her title at UFC 190 last night, as she landing a brutal knockout in Brazil which caused an unconscious Correia to faceplant to the mat.

Rousey’s latest masterclass of a performance was her third consecutive victory in less than a minute, with her last two wins coming in 16 seconds and 14 seconds.

After Correia appeared to make disrespectful comments referencing Rousey’s father’s suicide, Ronda vowed to put a hurting on the Brazilian. She certainly did that, although it didn’t last long!

Rousey said her game plan was to come out and use her striking to try and get Bethe to clinch with her so she could get the takedown and work for her patented armbar. In practice though, the clinch was unneccesary, as a swarm of punches to the head and body did the trick.

After the win, Rousey said:

It kind of went how we expected. I planned to, instead of trying to force a clinch, was overwhelm her with striking first to force her to clinch – and that’s exactly what happened. I hope that nobody really brings up my family anymore when it comes to fights. I hope this is the last time.

It’s Ronda Rousey’s world, we’re all just living in it.
