In strange news – a billionaire Sheikh and his son have been posting selfies of themselves ‘mixing with regular commuters’ on a sweaty London tube.
The gentlemen in question are His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum – the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai – and his son Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai.
According to the Daily Mail, Sheikh Mohammed’s wealth is reported to be in excess of $4 billion (£3 billion) – so quite why they’re taking the tube is anyone’s guess.

It seems likely that the whole thing was some sort of publicity stunt as, during the Tube ride, Sheikh Hamdan was uploading photos of the journey to his Twitter, Instagram and SnapChat accounts – where he has a combined following of nearly six million people.
The pair may have also had a professional photographer with them – adding to the feeling that the whole thing was staged. It’s unconfirmed which line the pair were travelling on but a couple of people have identified it as the Central Line.
The bulk of the Crown Prince’s Twitter followers seemed to be pretty chuffed with the photos:

However, some of the commenters on the Daily Mail article weren’t so impressed, with one saying:
How about allowing democracy and just become a state figure head ?No I did not think so they still want the power…
While another made the point:
Trying to be normal human beings boys Can’t you do that back home ?? Well neither can your citizens Double standards !!!
But the Crown Prince has definitely made at least one new fan…
