The Merc with the Mouth is usually on hand in most sticky situations with a witty rejoinder and a couple of fatally positioned samurai swords.
But Deadpool has taken a break from turning his opponents into kebabs and accepted defeat to a worthy adversary who could no doubt kick Francis’ butt: None other than DC’s Wonder Woman.
Exhibitor Relations today announced that Wonder Woman has surpassed Deadpool at the Box Office over the course of the past weekend, having raked in a total of $368 million to the $363 million Ryan Reynolds’ brainchild amassed.
WONDER WOMAN ($368M) passed DEADPOOL ($363M) this weekend, and is now the #34 highest grossing film ever domestically.

The film as been widely hailed for – finally – featuring a female-centric view of the DC multiverse and, although Deadpool was a deserving favourite of 2016, Wonder Woman is a welcome sign of the times.
Now the man behind the mask, Reynolds, has championed the successes of Wonder Woman herself and shared a message with her direct from his alter ego.
The Hollywood sweetheart took to Instagram to congratulate Gal Godot’s superhero:
Reynolds, in true ‘Pool fashion, wrote: “The Merc May Be Filthier, but Her B.O. is Stronger. Congrats #WonderWoman #BoxOfficeBoss”, while sharing a cute homemade chest selfie of Deadpool donning Wonder Woman’s crest.
