Ryanair Has Changed Their Cabin Bag Policy And People Are P*ssed Off

Ryanair, the go-to airline for cheap flights, has introduced a controversial new baggage policy.

Basically the only good thing about Ryanair is the price, and you suffer flying with them because the dent on your wallet is minimal.

But they famously catch you with the hidden costs of extras and add-ons that quickly rack up.

Ryanair has always allowed passengers to have on carry-on bag along with one personal bag for free on all of their flights.

But they say that this system was causing too many delays in getting people on and off the plane.

To counter this, they have now stopped allowing people to bring cabin luggage on the plane unless they have paid for it.

They have reduced the price of check-in baggage by £10 and increased the allowance from 15kg to 20kg.

But only priority customers will be allowed to bring a carry-on bag into the cabin of the plane for free.

So basically, if you’re not a Priority Boarding customer, any luggage needs to go in the hold, and you’re only allowed one personal bag.

Ryanair’s Kenny Jacobs said:

These bag policy changes will cost Ryanair over €50m p.a. in reduced checked bag fees. However, we believe offering bigger bags at reduced fees will encourage more customers to consider checking-in a bag, which will reduce the high volume of customers we have with two carry-on bags at the boarding gates, which is causing flight delays due to large numbers of gate bag and cabin bag offloads.

These effects will take place from all flights leaving after November 1, regardless of when it was booked.

Priority Boarding can be purchased at the time of booking or up to one hour from departure, so if you have a flight leaving after November 1st, it might be worth getting that booked.

People on Twitter aren’t happy with the announcement, unsurprisingly, and are letting Ryanair know all about it.

Here’s some angry tweets, because this was never not going to cause a big ol’ stir:

It won’t be long before there’s a story of a fight at an airport because someone didn’t know about this. Just you wait.
