Steven Seagal is used to kicking arse on the silver screen with his incredible kung-fu moves, but now the Serbian government wants him to share his secrets.

Serbian officials have bizarrely offered the veteran action star the job of training Serbian special police forces in Aikido, his trademark martial art.

The mayor of Belgrade, Sinisa Mali, said after meeting Seagal: “When you have such a famous star coming to Serbia, who loves our country and our people, our desire is to have him back again.”

Seagal has been visiting the Serbian capital of Belgrade and has had the red carpet rolled out for him during his visit, including meeting the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and the country’s pro-Russian president, Tomislav Nikolic.

While in the capital, Seagal received an award for his humanitarian work, from the Belgrade-based Brothers Karic Foundation and said he was proud to get the same honour that Putin once did.

Seagal’s one of a number of western celebrities whose praised Russian President Vladimir Putin despite frosty diplomatic relations between Moscow and the West.
