FacebookAn Australian beach had to be evacuated after an enormous shark was spotted just off the southern coast.
According to the Mirror, the massive creature was spotted near Marino Rocks in Adelaide and at an estimated 22ft long it is only just short of the 25ft monster shark in Steven Spielberg’s classic Jaws.
A warning about the creature was posted on the Facebook page Shark Alerts South Australia yesterday:
This just sent in of the massive 7m White spotted off Marino Rocks this afternoon from the Westpac Heli.

A message accompanying the post read:
Helicopter aerial patrols are currently herding a large White Shark out to sea off Marino Rocks. Nearby nippers events have been cancelled and all swimmers pulled from the water after the siren sounded.
The sheer size of the shark attracted a lot of interest, with the Shark Alerts South Australia Facebook page adding:

A number of commenters were quick to claim that it couldn’t possibly be that big, but a number of pictures were posted to the group, reportedly showing the shark to be bigger than the 6m boat that was trailing it.
Facebook user Chris Caputo also claimed to have witnessed the drama as the shark was seen, he wrote:
[I] was fishing off my kayak on that reef from 10am till the moment the sirens and the chopper flying near me seemed to be following something. I could just hear the swimming carnivool being cancelled which brought to my attention that if I stick around I may become aaah snack.
Yeah, you wouldn’t want to hang around to see if it was hungry or not would you?
