Officials have released shocking footage filmed using the bodycam of police officer Kaylynn Griffin as her and her partner shot dead a man outside a restaurant in Palestine, Texas.
The man, who was suspected of stealing beer from a store nearby, was escorted out of an Applebee’s before he pulled what has since been reported as a fake gun on the pair.
Not taking any chances, both Officer Kaylynn and Sergeant Gabriel Green unloaded on the man – who has since been identified as James Bushey – shooting him dead at the scene.

Police later determined the weapon was a BB gun designed to look like a 9 mm handgun, leaving unanswered questions about why Bushey drew the firearm in the first place. Last week, a grand jury determined that the use of deadly force was justified.
Both officers have not faced charges for the incident, and the video is now being used as evidence against police violence critics in order to show how fast officers have to react in situations like these.
