Shocking Footage Emerges From Inside Crashed Emirates Plane

Dramatic footage has emerged from inside an Emirates plane which crash landed at Dubai International airport.

After crashing onto the tarmac, the plane burst into flames, filling the cabin with smoke and sending passengers reaching for oxygen masks.

As reported by the Daily Mirror, all 300 people aboard were successfully evacuated to safety, but one heroic firefighter died during the rescue operation.

The Dubai airline’s first major accident followed an alleged aborted landing, with witness accounts suggesting an issue with the landing gear.

Jasim Issa Mohammed Hassan was the firefighter who lost his life while bravely fighting the flames on the downed craft, which arrived from Thiruvananthapuram, southern India.

Director of the General Civil Aviation Authority, Saif Al Suwaidi, said Hassan ‘lost his life while saving the lives of others’.

Suwaidi added:

I salute his ultimate sacrifice that kept many from harm’s way. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

The General Civil Aviation Authority released a full statement which read:

This Boeing 777 flight was carrying 282 passengers with 18 crew members on board.

We are grateful to God for his mercy and confirm that there were no fatalities among the passengers and crew on board.

We are however, very sad to announce that one of the firefighters lost his life while saving the lives of the others.

On behalf of the General Civil Aviation Authority, I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to the family of deceased. I salute his ultimate sacrifice that kept many from harm’s way.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Aviation expert Anthony Davis told the Mirror Online that he suspects pilot error may have been the cause behind the traumatic incident.

He said:

It is good that the crew got everybody off the plane but a Boeing 777 has been written off.

This just should not happen. It looks to me like this is an issue of not very good airmanship.

Flights resumed at 3:30pm (BST) – 6:30pm local time – after a suspension of over five hours.

Our thoughts go out to the friends and family of Jasim Issa Mohammed Hassan, and to all aboard who were subjected to the harrowing event.
