Shocking footage has emerged of the moment a family was knocked down by a hit and run driver while crossing a road in East London.
The crash, which took place around 2.55pm on Thursday, 27th October saw a 50-year-old woman, 12-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl mowed down by what appears to be a Ford Focus.
The other two dived out of the way and went to get help following the incident.
Instead of checking whether the family were okay, the driver and passenger made a run for it and abandoned their vehicle at the scene.
The two children were rushed to hospital with their grandmother following the hit and run, who is believed to have suffered a broken back and legs. The children’s injuries have been described as ‘not life-threatening’.
No arrests have been made but inquires continue. Police are asking for anyone with information to call 101.
