Shia LaBeouf was forced to shut down the anti-Trump live stream he was hosting after shots were allegedly fired in the area.
In protest of Donald Trump’s inauguration, the Transformers star launched a project in New York he describes as ‘a show of resistance or insistence, opposition or optimism’.
The performance artist called on all members of the public to stand together and visit his installation at the Museum of the Moving Image launched on January 20.
We have taken the stream down after shots were reported in the area. The safety of everybody participating in our project is paramount.

It was at this installation that LaBeouf was arrested over the assault of a man last month.
The art installation, which centres on the slogan He Will Not Divide Us, was recently moved to Albuquerque’s El Rey Theater due to security fears in its original location.
After shots were reported in the new location, LaBeouf had to stop the live stream for the safety of everyone participating,

The installation was open 24/7 and gave people the opportunity to deliver the words ‘he will not divide us’ into a camera as many times as they wanted and however they wished.
LaBeouf described the project:
Open to all, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the participatory performance will be live-streamed continuously for four years, or the duration of the presidency. In this way, the mantra “HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US” acts as a show of resistance or insistence, opposition or optimism, guided by the spirit of each individual participation.
