A pair of men are seen sawing the live shark into pieces in Guangdong in front of a crowd of onlookers, who mostly react in disgust. The whale’s mouth can be seen moving in pain.
YouTubeWhale sharks are counted as a second-class national protected animal in China, and they must be set free if caught by a fisherman. But people regularly flaunt this law, and they sell for big money.
