But that’s not all the former England football legend was in attendance for. During Jamie Murray’s doubles match he proved his hand-eye-coordination was just as slick as his latest haircut when he caught a stray shot with as much casualness as his 30-yard free kick against Greece that sent the Three Lions into the 2002 World Cup finals.
Once he acquired the ball and sponged up the cheers from the crowd, the now 40-year-old smiled, raised his arm, then lobbed the ball back into Centre Court from his (very decent) seat.
