If you want to know what is going to happen in the future, fuck magic eight balls, Nostradamus, and tarot card readers, just watch The Simpsons.
The show which has been running since December ’89, bringing fans 28 seasons of viewing pleasure, has seen a number of its jokes actually become reality.
Check out these ten storylines, courtesy of Alltime10s, which came true:
Devil writers!
Apparently inspired by Homer’s plutonium enriched hybrid, a man by the name of Rob Baur actually produced a ‘Tomacco’ plant.
Baur was then invited to meet writer Ian Maxtone-Graham, who penned the episode, and brought him a genuine Tomacco plant.
Ah lunch lady Doris was never a Michelin star chef, but she was nothing if not creative with her recipes.
Sadly her cutting of corners proved all too inspirational, and her gag about using gym mats in meals disturbingly crept into reality when the McRib was proven to contain ingredients found inside yoga mats.

Apu Nahasapeemapetilon and his wife Manjula’s world was turned upside down when their home was graced by not one but eight little bundles of joy hellbent on destroying their previously quiet life.
The plot was criticised as ‘outlandish’, but in 2009 America’s first real ‘Octomum’ did bring eight children into the world after an IVF doctor transferred 12 – yes 12- embryos into a woman’s uterus.
Sadly, much like the Nahasapeemapetilons, Natalie Denise Doud-Suleman was hit by the financial burden you’d expect with having so many mouths to feed, she then became a reality and adult film star to ensure her kids never went without.
And then there was that hilarious joke where The Simpsons suggested Donald Trump could one day become president.
Oh how we laughed in our blissful ignorance, unaware that floppy hair -which is obviously 100% his and how dare anyone suggest otherwise- could one day be sat in the Oval Office with access to a certain big red button at his disposal…
Let’s all pray they were wrong on that occasion, as it was also forecast that Trump fucked the economy in epic fashion…
