There is widespread concern for the health of Sinead O’Connor after the musician posted what appeared to be a suicide note on Facebook.

In the message she claimed to have taken an overdose, and that she would not be found at home as she was booked into an Irish hotel under a different name.

Police have since confirmed O’Connor has been found and is being treated medically.

The post was published onto Facebook earlier this evening, giving a tragic insight into the ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ singer’s state of mind.

O’Connor, who has spoken of issues with her mental health in the past, underwent a hysterectomy in late August of this year and has allegedly been on suicide watch in hospital for the past fortnight.

She has four children and has been married on five occasions, splitting from her current husband Barry Hedge 16 days after their wedding before later remarrying.

O’Connor’s very public battle with mental health issues highlights just how much society can still improve in helping those in need.
