A Pakistani singer is being praised on social media for saving a young girl from harassment at one of his concerts.
Atif Aslam was performing in Karachi on Sunday when he stopped mid-song and jumped off stage to reprimand a group of young men who were harassing a girl.
He then took the girl onstage and asked the event organisers to find her another seat away from the gaggle of malcontents. Aslam told the men they should ‘act like human beings’ while the crowd cried: ‘Atif! Atif!’
A video of the concert was put on social media…
And Twitter went mad for Aslam’s heroic actions…
Great work Aslam, it’s nice to see pop stars actually using their massive celebrity for good rather than for themselves.
And guys, don’t harass girls…
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
