A massive 4GB mod has been released for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that overhauls the games cities, and even adds new settlements.
After nearly three-and-a-half years’ work, Holds: The City Overhaul rebuilds Winterhold, Dawnstar and Falkreath from the ground up. The aim was to add more personality to the cities by adding more buildings, and people, as well as a deeper background and history.
Other holds, such as Whiterun, have been redone and given a new lease on life too.
The mod’s creator (Galandil) wrote on Nexus Mods:
The aim of all of this is to create a more memorable and diverse experience. Making the cities actually feel like cities hopefully without ruining the natural and realistic design of the vanilla game.
You can take a good look at the overhauled areas in a series of handy videos below.
You never really need an excuse to get back into Skyrim, but if you own a PC and a copy of the game, now’s as good a time as any to get back to some dragon slaying fun.
