Yesterday the internet went into meltdown over rumours that Sylvester Stallone had confirmed at Comic-Con he would be fighting ISIS in Rambo V.

The bizarre story was picked up by just about every news outlet and excited fans across the globe, but unfortunately, Sly’s agent has today said that it’s all a hoax.

Sylvester Stallone did not attend Comic-Con 2015, and consequently there was no official remark from him regarding Rambo made there at the event… This is not an accurate report.

Stallone had apparently been in Venice at the time of Comic-Con, and the original news story has been traced to a fake Washington Post website. To be honest, it does look pretty dodgy. The fake report announced that Sly had turned up to Comic-Con unannounced and held an impromptu Q&A with fans where he dropped the news.

We have teams scouting Iraq and parts of Syria where ISIS have their greatest strongholds. We’re working with the locals there to help deliver the most intense and realistic Rambo movie experience ever.

Yeah. Right.

Although Sly has said that he will be working on an ending for John Rambo, no concrete information has been given on who or what he will be fighting. A press release from German company Splendid Films in November 2014 stated that Rambo would be fighting the Mexican Cartel, and that Stallone would return in the iconic role, as well as writing and directing. Although this news is pretty fake, I wouldn’t rule anything out just yet.

Rambo is pretty badass after all.
