According to a recent survey, smokers might want to consider giving the habit up, or at the very least investing in some mints, because having ‘fag breath’ is pretty much the biggest turn off imaginable according to one poll about first dates.
A massive 52% of people who were polled claimed that they would not kiss anyone who had ‘fag breath’, with that apparently being worse than someone who had breath that smelt of garlic and those who were bad kissers.
The survey was carried out by oral healthcare firm DenTek, who asked 1,000 people who were out on Friday night about their thoughts on first kisses.
Charlotte Campbell, 32, of St Albans, Herts, claimed:
I’ve been on dates when the guy has tried to stick his tongue down my throat on a first date.
Needless to say I’ve not seen them again.
The worst is when they’ve just had a cigarette and have stinky fag breath – it’s a real turn-off.
There was also a bit of a difference between males and females when it came to sticking a tongue in on the first date, with 87% of men expecting it, whereas only 37% of women did.
So there you have it. Don’t smoke, eat garlic or stick your tongue in if you want to be on the safe side.
