Have you ever dreamed of plastering mini emoji versions of yourself all over Snapchat? Well, dream no more.
While the introduction of filters worked wonders for everyone’s Snapchat game, the app is rolling out another brand new feature that will no doubt take over everyone’s phone – Bitmojis.
Today, Snapchat announced a new integration with BitStrips, which it bought in March, and now owns the popular emoji app Bitmoji.
Basically, after designing and customizing emojis of yourself in the Bitmoji app, you can use those stickers in Snapchat photos and videos.
And making a mini emoji version of yourself is pretty easy – just download the separate Bitmoji app, which is available on iOS and Android, and update Snapchat to get the latest version. Then customize your Bitmoji.
The app offers a variety of personal characteristics, like face shapes, skin tones, hair color and style, eyebrows, and jawlines, which allows for pretty accurate depictions.
After creating your own Bitmoji, head to ‘settings’ to link the app to Snapchat. If you’re new to Bitmoji, you’ll be able to log in with Snapchat to create an account.
But like many things in the Snapchat app, finding your Bitmoji is a little tricky. After you take a picture or video, tap on the sticky note icon in the upper right hand corner – that will turn on the stickers feature. If you’re still confused, the video explains it all.
And if you’re talking to a friend who also has Bitmoji linked to their Snapchat, you’ll be able to use Friendmoji – which is basically the same thing as Bitmoji but with both of you in it.
Will this be better than the filters feature? Probably not. But it’ll still be fun to use.
