New Line CinemaThe long awaited trailer for Stephen King’s IT has finally burst from the sewers on to the web and it’s every bit as terrifying as you’d expect.
IT also known as IT: Part 1 – The Losers’ Club, based on the 1986 Stephen King novel of the same name, will tell the story of seven young friends known as the Losers club who find them selves terrorised by a monstrous, otherworldly being known only as IT.
This hideous beast disguises itself using the fears and phobias of its victims as it hunts them down in particular it become a frightening clown to try and lure in it’s preferred snack, small children.

Director Andrés Muschietti is the man bringing IT to the big screen and is probably best known for his terrifying feature film Mama (2013) which dealt with similar themes to IT.
The Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård will be the one under the ghoulish grease paint and he’s said he hoped he brought something a bit different to the character who was first portrayed by Tim Curry in the 1990 IT TV Movie.

It’s such an extreme character. Inhumane, It’s beyond even a sociopath, because he’s not even human. He’s not even a clown. I’m playing just one of the beings IT creates.
It truly enjoys the shape of the clown Pennywise, and enjoys the game and the hunt.
GettyThe film will apparently deal with the usual King themes; childhood-trauma, memory, the hypocrisy of small-town values and of course will be packed with pant-shitting scares.
IT creeps into cinemas on September 8.
