Steve Irwin’s daughter Bindi is following in her father’s footsteps and has been filmed wrestling with a colossal 15 foot long crocodile.

Bindi, who bravely spoke at the memorial service for her late father Steve who died 10 years ago today, has taken up her father’s mantle and now works as a wildlife specialist.

In the video, Bindi along with an elite team of croc catchers tackle a monstrous crocodile, bravely leaping on the reptile just like her dad famously used to.

She paid tribute to her late father, writing:

Crikey. Check out Big Dunc. Our highly experienced @Australiazoo Croc Team uses the very same capture techniques that Dad developed so many years ago.

Bindi went on to add that the group’s team leader, Toby Millyard, was trained by Steve and that he helps to maintain her father’s legacy.

Although some may think that it’s cruel to wrestle a croc, it’s actually an important part of learning to look after the beasts as they sometimes need to be captured for hospital treatment.

Steve Irwin died on this day in 2006 after a sting-ray repeatedly stabbed him while he was filming the animal for Bindi’s television show Bindi the Jungle Girl.

Bindi paid tribute to her dad with a tweet showing them together:

RIP Steve. Gone but never forgotten.
