PAA bootleg video capturing the moment Steve Irwin was fatally barbed by a stingray reveals evidence the beloved Crocodile Hunter’s death was preventable, claims a top medical expert.
Dr. Gabe Mirkin told RadarOnline Irwin unwittingly hastened his demise by removing the stingray’s barb out of his chest.
The 44-year-old animal wrangler died 11 years ago on September 4 2006, while filming an Ocean’s Deadliest documentary in chest-deep water off Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
PAOf the incident, Dr Mirkin said:
The stingray tail effectively acted as a plug, and the second he removed it, he bled to death. Steve Irwin didn’t have to die.
The American doctor, who never treated Irwin himself, made the remarks of footage which was leaked after being allegedly stolen and copied under suspicious circumstances from the original film shot by Steve’s crew.

Australian weekly magazine Woman’s Day alleges that Steve’s wife Terri is ‘going through hell’ due to Dr. Mirkin’s unsubstantiated claims.
A friend of Terri’s has allegedly told the magazine:
The truth is, Steve was so badly wounded nothing could’ve saved him, given the remote area where it happened.
