Our latest visitors from a distant planet have come in the form of a mysterious ‘glowing UFO’ spotted by Google Earth off the coast of Antarctica, reports The Mirror.
It wasn’t long before Tyler, from secureteam10 – a YouTube channel for alien enthusiasts – shared the picture and asked people to ‘bring some clarity to this situation’.
In his opinion the image showed:
A disturbance as if something is coming up and going back in to the water. It looks like a creature or possible vehicle of some sort.
As you’d expect, people were pretty quick to comment on the YouTube clip with their own theories of what it could be, and it’s safe to say that not everyone was convinced by the UFO theory.
YouTubeMost people came up with the more logical explanation that it was probably a whale or giant octopus, while others claimed it was a fishing boat or underwater mountain.
However, not to be discouraged, secureteam10 replied:
Giant squids reach about 43ft in length, although I’m not sure if whales can go up to 140ft as this does.
But one guy – Chadwick The Great – seemed fairly certain he had the right answer.
He said:
If you look at the history of that area on Google Earth, that spot is always there.
This was the 1st time that there wasn’t cloud cover. If you zoom out you can see that this is the top of an underwater mountain.
But lets just go with the ‘Giant Squid Theory’ – it make us seem so much more intelligent.
Some people have way too much time on their hands…
