Street Fighter V is fast approaching, and fans around the world are eager to get stuck in to some scrapping with a plethora of new characters and stages. Capcom have now announced their post launch plans for the game, as well as some cool new story details.

When the game drops on February 16, players will get the chance to play through individual character stories that reveal more about their respective roles in the game, and their relationships with the other fighters. As if you needed an excuse to sweat Street Fighter for hours at a time.

As if this wasn’t enough, it turns out that the initial story sections only serve as a prologue to a cinematic story expansion which will be released in June 2016 as a free update.

These events are set to take place between Street Fighter III and IV, bridging the gap between those two games. A cinematic story is a first for the Street Fighter franchise, so it’s certainly something to look forward to.

As a reward for completing the story missions and other modes, players will be able earn Fight Money, which can be used to purchase new characters and more in the in-game store. The store won’t be open until the first post launch content drops in March, so we’ll have plenty of time to earn some Fight Money (or scrap dolla, as nobody but us will be calling it) and enjoy the content we have. You’ll also be able to use real money in the store, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Lastly, Capcom revealed that a fourth (and final) beta will run from January 30th to the 31st as a lil’ something extra to the fans.
