For those who simply can’t wait for Studio Ghibli’s long-awaited film The Red Turtle, the Japanese animators have produced an incredible short anime from the world’s earliest manga.
The production house have once again proved that they can compete with even Pixar when it comes to turning unlikely stories into film gold with this short animated adaptation of a 12th century picture scroll, Mashable reports.
The short film is adapted from picture scrolls called Choju Jinbutsu Giga (Scrolls of Frolicking Animals), which are considered the earliest records of Japanese manga, and this beautiful short brings the black-and-white drawings of animals dancing in the wild to life.
Marubeni Shin Denryoku, a Japanese energy company, commissioned the animated advert which seeks to highlight ecological issues that the modern world seem to have forgotten about.
