Suzi Perry has hinted that she has spoken to ‘Top Gear’ producers about joining the show.

However, the presenter says she has no plans to be a part of the revamped show due to her commitments to hosting the BBC’s Formula One coverage.

In an appearance on ITV’s This Morning today, Perry said:

You know what it’s like when you work for a channel and you have conversations. But we don’t know what’s going to happen with that show. So until as a broadcaster you know what’s going to happen with the show, I don’t think you can really think very seriously about it.

Although the 45-year-old didn’t deny she would be interested in a role on the motoring show, she pointed out it’s highly unlikely she’d actually have enough time to film both Top Gear and the F1 coverage.

She added:

I’m away twenty weeks a year doing Formula 1. So unless someone has invented 48 hours in a day – which maybe (looking at Phillip Schofield) you have actually! You know, it would be pretty tough I think for me to do it.

Perry – who admitted she turned down a role on the show prior to its 2002 return – is among several presenters rumoured to join Chris Evans in the new Top Gear line-up, alongside the likes of Jodie Kidd, Guy Martin and Dermot O’Leary.

The final episode of Top Gear featuring Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May was broadcast on BBC Two last Sunday.
