Forget about Google and their self-driving cars, it looks like self-driving buses are now a thing and they’re here to stay.
Leading Chinese bus manufacturer, Yutong, built the prototype and successfully completed the trial of the unmanned passenger bus.
Following the reported success of its maiden voyage, you can now actually take a look at the bus in action as point-of-view footage of a recent trip has been released, courtesy of RT’s Ruptly video agency.
The futuristic vehicle was sent on a 32km (20 mile) ride on an intercity road in Zhengzhou, China on Monday and everything went off without a hitch.
The 10.5-metre long bus comes equipped with a bunch of cameras, laser radars and wave radars, as well as its own integrated navigation system and, if the technological marvel proves a success, horribly long shifts for bus drivers could be a thing of the past.
The future is now, it would seem!
