When leukaemia sufferer Naomi Oakes made a video about how she was using Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ song as inspiration to help her through gruelling treatment to see off the disease, little did she know the megastar would actually hear about the video, let alone go and watch it.
However, in true Taylor Swift style, the singer watched the video and then reached out to the family and Naomi herself, making this one of the latest in a string of gestures from the singing sensation to her fans, especially those in need.
After already donating $15,000 to a firefighter who saved his own family, she put her hand in her pockets once again.
Swift made donations on Naomi’s GoFundMe page, that totalled a massive $50,000.
She wrote:
To the beautiful and brave Naomi, I’m sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts. Let’s focus on getting you feeling better. I’m sending the biggest hugs to you and your family.
Naomi’s reaction to finding out Swift had donated so much money was filmed, and she was so overwhelmed she claimed that she ‘could not breathe’, with her family stating they hoped the music star saw their thank you video.
