The teenager was a specialist in the Freeride and Boardercross disciplines of snowboarding, and was due to return to competing next month.
Ellie spent the 2017/18 season competing in the Freeride Junior Tour, and had just been selected for the British team for the Junior World Championships in New Zealand.
She was also an inaugural member of the British Europa Cup snowboard cross programme, which commenced earlier this year, and was tipped for a place at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

Ellie grew up in Surrey before moving to Les Gets in the French Alps, where she first learnt to snowboard at the age of ten, and was an ambassador for the Les Gets Ski Station.
In June 2017, Ellie was featured in the Telegraph as a future star of British skiing and snowboarding, and was shortlisted for the Evie Pinching Award which celebrates the next generation of British talent and ‘highlights the youngsters who are ones to watch in the coming years’.
Our thoughts go out to Ellie and her family.
