15-year-old Alexey Maximov from Moscow, Russia, stabbed 21-year-old university student Daria Evdokimova around a dozen times in her eyes, neck and chest.

Maximov, who has confessed to the murder, followed and then attacked Daria as she withdrew money from a cash machine. Daria’s boyfriend came to help after she collapsed from shock, however she died from her injuries on the spot.

Maximov fled the murder scene after taking the 30,000 roubles (£350) Daria had withdrawn from the machine. A policeman who witnessed the attack gave chase, but lost the suspect, The Mirror reports.

Disturbing CCTV footage shows Maximov following Daria in the final moments before he attacked her.

Using CCTV and mobile phone signals, police were able to track Maximov down at his home. Police discovered the teen ‘calmly’ playing his favourite game – PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds – in his bedroom.

He reportedly did not resist arrest and was quick to confess to the murder.

According to Mash news outlet, Maximov said:

I did not intend to kill her… I was not going to,

But a voice inside me told me what had to be done. I have always wanted to see when a person dies by your own hand.

Maximov’s parents have reportedly expressed ‘shock’ at their son’s crime and have stated how this is the first time he has been in trouble with the law. Maximov has now been taken into custody pending a murder investigation.

Back in January, two teenagers in the UK were found guilty of murder after killing a homeless man because one of the assailants thought it would be ‘funny’.

Alex Macdonald and Charlie White, both 19-years-old, attacked 21-year-old Razvan Sirbu in May 2018 with a machete before leaving his body alongside other weapons next to his tent.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Pledger described the case as being:

… an utterly senseless attack on a young man who stood little chance of protecting himself. Razvan Sirbu was subjected to a horrific ordeal which appears to have been entirely unprovoked.

He was beaten repeatedly, suffering a catalogue of appalling injuries as a result of a sustained and savage assault.

Our investigation has uncovered compelling and overwhelming evidence linking the offenders to this murder, but their refusal to tell the truth may mean we never know precisely why they carried out this attack.

The teenagers were convicted of murder by a jury at Maidstone Crown Court. Police in Kent released CCTV footage of Macdonald (of Regency Place, Maidstone) and White (of Quarry Road, Maidstone) burning their clothes and recreating scenes from Sibru’s murder.
