A poor Israeli television reporter was ironically stabbed while demonstrating a ‘stab proof’ vest.

Eitam Lachover was accidentally stabbed by Yaniv Montakyo, the vice president of a body armour company, who was trying to prove the strength of their protective vests. Thankfully Mr Lachover wasn’t seriously injured in the accident.

In the video Montakyo pulls out a large steel ‘commando knife’ that he claims was used by armies around the world. Mr Lachover nervously asks: “You’re going to stab me with this?”

“Yes,” Mr Montakyo replies, before assuring the reporter: “You have nothing to worry about, we are very confident in our product. This product can protect from knives that are stronger than this one. Don’t be afraid – if something happens, I’m here.”

He then turns the reporter around and begins to stab him. The vest initially does it’s job but on the third stab the knife penetrates it.

Fair play to Mr Lachover though, who managed to keep a straight face despite being stabbed – his only reaction is a flicker of brief annoyance.

Montakyo quickly realises his mistake and shouts that he ‘missed’ before helping the injured reporter out of the vest before the footage quickly cut back to the television studio.

Stabbing a reporter live on TV to test your new stab proof vest? It was always going to go wrong…
