Here’s ten of the incredible products that the company are currently working on…

Google

1) Project Loon

Google hopes to send internet to areas of the world where it is currently not readily available. To do so, they plans to launch weather balloons which hover in the stratosphere and send wireless signals to devices below.

2) An army of robots

Google has only gone and purchased a handful of robotics companies which are working on everything from robots with emotions to armies of robots ready for combat!

Google

4) Google contact lens

This is not, as you might expect, the successor to Google Glass. In fact, this would be used to monitor the blood sugar levels in diabetics without having to puncture the skin to draw blood.

Google

5) Liftware

A self levelling utensil which would be invaluable to sufferers of Parkinson’s disease.

Google

6) Lunar XPRIZE

Google is also working on space exploration after recently purchasing an airfield at NASA to begin development, testing and training.

7) Makani

Not to be confused with a mankini (a very different thing), ‘Makani’ is a project which is essentially a wind turbine in the sky and Google hopes could generate electricity. It means that turbines wouldn’t take up so much land space.

Google

8) Project Ara

Google is leading the way with plans for the modular phone – a device which would be fully customisable with replaceable modules. And you thought apps were cool!

Google

9) Project Tango

The next step in Google maps; the company has been working hard on 3D mapping so that a user’s location can be determined at the most precise level yet.

Google

10) Self-driving cars

Google has already debuted these cars and have had a lot of success so far. The feeling is that cars which drive themselves will slowly start to replace many of the vehicles which are currently on the road.
