A 10-year-old boy saved the lives of his baby brother and his mother when she unexpectedly went into labour six weeks early on their bathroom floor.
Jayden Fontenot managed to keep his cool and deliver the baby, Daxx, after his mom Ashly Moreau went into a difficult and life-threatening labour.
You can watch Jayden and his mother recount the ordeal via KPLC below:

Amazingly, Jayden saved both their lives during the difficult birth when the baby was initially in the breech position – meaning he was feet first – and Ashly was bleeding profusely after her water broke.
Doctors said the bleeding was most likely caused by her placenta detaching from the uterine wall prematurely, while on the bathroom floor of their Sulphur, Louisiana home.
Once Jayden had delivered Daxx – six weeks before his mum’s September 20 due date, on August 11 – he noticed his baby brother wasn’t breathing.
In another incredible display of quick thinking, Jayden used a nasal aspirator to pump air into the infant’s lungs.
At the time, Ashly’s fiancee Kelsey Richard, had already left for work, leaving Jayden to rush next door to find his grandmother who called 9-1-1.
However, she was unable to help Jayden with his mother, because she had just undergone surgery and couldn’t walk.
Faced with a life or death challenge alone, the 10-year-old delivered Daxx before medical help arrived and rushed the family to hospital.
Ashly told KPLC:
When he got to the bathroom, he just took a deep breath and said, ‘Okay, Mom, just tell me what I need to do.’
He didn’t look scared, he looked calm and brave and I said ‘Okay, I’m going to tell you what to do and we need to get your brother out as fast as possible because he’s breeched and he can’t breathe.’
Doctors said if Jayden hadn’t been there, the baby would have never started breathing and Moreau would have bled out during delivery.
What a special bond between brothers.
