Remember the Californian daredevil who jumped off a 129ft building into Newport Harbour, narrowly missing the dock below?

After his death-defying (and also quite illegal) stunt, the police have finally caught up with him and uncovered the man behind the mask, the blockhead behind the balaclava.

Just in case you missed it, here’s the YouTube video:

YouTuber 8Booth, a professional jumper, has been arrested for trespassing.

Falling with style? More like one-way ticket to trial.

The man who professes to ‘disappear’ behind his mask, his identity really wasn’t as difficult to uncover as expected.

Laguna Beach Police have now released a photograph depicting the man suspected to be 8Booth, which shows him looking over the moon.

Perhaps the thrill of being arrested was enough to fuel his adrenaline hit.

According to the LA Times, the 28-year-old Laguna Niguel man has been charged with trespassing in connection with the 8Booth stunts:

Anthony Booth Armer is charged with two misdemeanour counts of unauthorised entry of a dwelling and one misdemeanour count of trespassing with intent to interfere with business, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.

Among other charges, Armer is accused of climbing over a wall on Sept. 29 to get into the employee-only areas of Laguna Beach’s Surf & Sand Resort before jumping from the fifth floor of the hotel into the pool.

The Laguna Beach police department were able to arrest Armer on the basis of eye-witness accounts from homeowners and hotel staff.

…And the millions of viewers to whom 8Booth has been broadcasting, presumably.

It’s a sure fire way to get caught.
